I am trying to create a new record through a pop up but for some reason my fields won't show up in my pop up. I have created a separate model that references the same object and created a filter that says id = blank/null.

Did you use the Run Multiple Actions option in order to use actions "Activate & Set Model Condition" & "Query Model" along with the "Pop Up" action. Using just the "Pop Up" action on it's own will show exactly what I just tested to make sure: no field editor component. It will only show when there are rows in the corresponding model.

The problem is with your condition and with your model definition.

When you want to have a model serve to create new records you need to go to the advanced tab of the model properties and make sure these properties are set.
A: Create default row if Model has none - should be checked.
B: Load Model data on page load - shoud NOT be checked.

Then remove the condition you have in place today.  What your condition is currently doing is ensuring that no record could EVER be returned,  because a record will ALWAYS have an ID.   The condition is useful in some situations,  but not necessary in this one.

After that you should be good.

Have you looked at our tutorials on creating "New record pages" :  It all works the same way - even in a popup.
