If a component is created and uses a particular model or field, but then changes are made to that model or field, the component is not aware of that. This can cause errors if a model or field is deleted that was depended on by a component.

What should happen if a change or deletion of a model occurs?

Should an error message appear that prevents the user from changing or deleting the model?

Should the component be rendered in a different way (perhaps like the red background in the above box) to indicate that the component has a problem with the linked model?

Any other suggestions?

right now, i believe, at least when you are deleting a model, you get a message saying "These components [123] are relying on this model, are you sure you want to delete it"?
