Our users are often out of office for meetings and cannot use phones, and without something that they must click to indicate they have viewed it, they may miss an important memo. The user who "alerts" another user on an activity also needs to ensure that the alerted user has read the activity with a "mark as read" button. This is why the chatter feed is insufficient.
What we have created is a custom activity multi-select picklist with all our users' names. When a user's name is selected, the activity shows up in the selected users' activity "alert" view.
What we are looking for needs 2 parts to fully work:
1. We want the home page for each user to show their "alert view" by default, with the option to see their tasks as well.
2. We want a popup window to appear with the option for the user to view, dismiss or postpone the activity, and if dismissed, remove their name from the multi-select picklist and their alert view.
We wanted to know if this would be possible with the Skuid platform, and how much work it would take to accomplish this or something similar.
